What our clients say

Why our resin driveways stand out

Water drains through

Our resin driveways let water seep through to the ground, which helps with drainage and often avoids planning issues.

Smooth & tough

Because we mix the stones and resin before laying them, you get a seamless surface that can handle cars and vans. Resin bonded driveways (where stones are scattered on top) aren’t made for vehicles.

Colour that lasts

We use UV‑stable resin, so your driveway won’t fade or yellow.

Easy to look after

Sweep it when needed, and if you want to wash it, use a hose or a pressure washer on a gentle setting (under 150 bar, cold water).

No hard sell

We check every site ourselves, and never take a deposit. We can also point you to resin driveways we’ve completed in your area so you can see different colour options, borders and finishes up close.

Kind to nature

Water drains through the resin bound surface instead of running off, so you don’t get puddles or standing water on your driveway.

Pricing

Overlay
€95 per m²

If your current tarmac or concrete is in good condition, we can lay resin on top for €95 per square metre.
This saves the cost of digging everything out.

New base & resin

Priced after survey

If you have block paving, gravel or an unstable base, we’ll take it up and lay a new porous tarmac or concrete base. The price depends on access, levels and drainage. A new tarmac base needs roughly a week to cure, and concrete about four weeks, before we can lay the resin.

Resin driveway installation made simple

A resin driveway isn’t just laid onto any surface. We need a stable, crack‑free tarmac or concrete base. Block paving or loose gravel won’t work. Once the base is ready, we mix dried stones with a clear resin and spread it at about 18–20 mm depth.

This surface can handle cars up to about 7.5 tonnes. Bigger vehicles need a thicker layer. After two days of resin, you can drive on it. To keep it looking fresh, just sweep and occasionally wash with a hose.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between resin bound and resin bonded?

Resin bound mixes stones and resin together before laying, giving a smooth, permeable surface that’s suitable for driveways. Resin bonded is where stones are thrown onto resin spread over the base; it doesn’t let water through and is only for footpaths.

Planning permission isn’t required if your new driveway:

  • Is 25 square metres or less, or
  • Covers less than half of your front garden.

For larger driveways, you still won’t need permission if the surface is permeable. In other words, rainwater must be able to soak into the ground rather than flow off onto the road or footpath. Resin bound driveways are fully permeable, meaning water drains through the surface, so planning permission is generally not required.

We can overlay resin only if your existing driveway is either tarmac or concrete and is in good condition. Other surfaces, like block paving, gravel or old slabs, aren’t suitable for resin. In those cases, we’ll dig out the base, install a new concrete or tarmac base, let it cure, and then lay the resin on top.

If we’ve had to lay a new base, that base needs time to harden before we add the resin. A new tarmac base should be left to cure for roughly a week, while a concrete base may need up to four weeks. Once the resin is laid, it sets quite quickly: it will be touch‑dry after a few hours and we recommend leaving it for about 24 hours before walking on it and 48 hours before parking a car. This gives the resin time to fully cure so your driveway stays strong and looks its best.

Sweep it regularly with a stiff broom to remove leaves and debris. For washing, use a garden hose or a domestic pressure washer on a gentle setting – never above 150 bar – and keep the nozzle at least 20 cm from the surface. Avoid big commercial pressure washers as they can easily exceed these pressures and damage the resin. Always use cold water and rinse away any detergent thoroughly.

A standard 18–20 mm resin drive will take cars up to around 7.5 tonnes. If you expect heavier vehicles, let us know so we can install a thicker layer.
